Epiphany 5

Here's my very first post of my Blog Project 365. Originally I imagined starting it on Easter, then on Ash Wednesday, but logically, since I'm making this winter a time of reflection and quiet, why not begin it now? These two songs are from this morning's worship.
Psalm 86:12, "I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart:
and I will glorify thy name for evermore."

Glorify Thy Name: words and music by Donna Adkins

Father, I love you, I praise you, I adore you,
Glorify Thy name in all the earth.
Glorify Thy name, glorify Thy name,
Glorify Thy name in all the earth.

We sang stanzas 2 and 3 of Draw us in the Spirit's Tether, but I'm quoting all of it--such a favorite!
  1. Draw us in the Spirit's tether, for when humbly in your name,
    two or three are met together, you are in the midst of them;
Alleluia! Alleluia! Touch we now your garment's hem.

  2. As disciples used to gather in the name of Christ to sup,
then with thanks to God the Giver, break the bread and bless the cup,
Alleluia! Alleluia! So now bind our friendship up.

  3. All our meals and all our living make as sacraments of you,
that by caring, helping, giving, we may be disciples true.
Alleluia! Alleluia! We may serve with faith anew.
Text by Percy Dearmer, 1925; alt.
Tune, "Union Seminary" by Harold Friedell, 1957
