tomorrow will be my day at Orientale Lumen

I'm planning to blog on desert spirit's fire about the day's content, when I get to spend the entire Wednesday of the Orientale Lumen Conference on the Orthodox Church(es) that meets annually just down the road at University of San Diego. The day will open with Divine Liturgy, which I plan to attend, so it looks as as if I'd better check somewhere online to see if women need to cover their heads during worship. At least I was smart enough to realize I *should* wear something other than shorts or a short skirt, so I'll make that "something other" a long skirt. After I blog about the conference, I'll link on this blog to that blog.

Not Destined to Rule the World!

You Are Not Destined to Rule the World
You are destined for something else...
Like inventing a new type of cupcake.
You just don't have the stomach for brutality.
But watch out - because many people do!

County Fair Results

Hey, I just found out my County Fair entry results: I got a First Place Blue ribbon for my Earth Day Stamps; but my 67 Wellesley Park got a Blue, a Best in Class and a Best in Show! I have the pics in pdf form, but need to reformat them in order to blog them, which I hope to be able to do on Saturday.

Wednesday

This evening will be my first AutoCAD class---6 Wednesday evenings altogether, but if I'm still in SD, I'll miss the last session, because I'll be doing VBS (teaching the English-speaking adult class) at Left Right in the City Church.

Friday Basic Blog

Today marks the end of another few months of Adobe Print; I feel I've accomplished a good amount in terms of learning, production and participation. And yesterday Jane told me she believes my liturgical art is the best she's ever seen!!!!!

I'm planning to go to the Fair on Tuesday to find out how my entries faired; I think Mondays are dark; besides, I need to do a ton of housework and some essential errands.

Thursday almost noon

Another placeholder blog for today; tomorrow is the end of thie semester and the last day of Print, so we'll be having a Potluck and an Art Show! Yay!!!!!

Next Wednesday evening I'm starting AutoCad classes - a series of six - so I can diagram the layout of my condo and maybe even get some things better organized.

General Info from Suntreeriverdesign

This morning I uploaded my pdf site to suntreeriver design, though tomorrow morning I need to do a ton of editing in Dreamweaver--the links didn't travel over to the html doc I exported from pdf and I'll need to change the sizes of a lot of the images. But nonetheless, it's finally live!

Monday Accomplishments

It's 1:15

This morning I saved out all of the images for my PDF portfolio as PDFs; linked the portal page to each of the topical intro pages and linked each image on each topical page to the specific pictures.

Now I'm working on the bulletin cover for next Sunday's Graduation and Teacher Appreciation.

Good Work!

Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing

...just 3 stanzas that have been going through my head for the past few days...

Come, Thou Fount of ev'ry blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace.
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.

Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Hither by Thy help I’m come.
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let that grace, now like a fetter,
Bind my yielded heart to Thee.

WORDS: Robert Robinson, 1758
MUSIC: John Wyeth’s Repository of Sacred Music, Part Second, 1813

Ebenezer (stone of help), a stone set up by Samuel after a signal defeat of the Philistines, as a memorial of the “help” received on the occasion from Jehovah; a stone commemorating God’s deliverance of His people. 1 Samuel 7:12

Friday blog on Saturday

I just now noticed I didn't blog here on Friday, so I'm doing a predated placeholder blog for Friday today, on Saturday.
