Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing

...just 3 stanzas that have been going through my head for the past few days...

Come, Thou Fount of ev'ry blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace.
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.

Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Hither by Thy help I’m come.
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let that grace, now like a fetter,
Bind my yielded heart to Thee.

WORDS: Robert Robinson, 1758
MUSIC: John Wyeth’s Repository of Sacred Music, Part Second, 1813

Ebenezer (stone of help), a stone set up by Samuel after a signal defeat of the Philistines, as a memorial of the “help” received on the occasion from Jehovah; a stone commemorating God’s deliverance of His people. 1 Samuel 7:12
